Hello, and welcome to my new blog. This space will serve as a journal for my day to day activities and hopefully have a smattering of interesting anecdotes as time progresses.
I'm not actually expecting anybody to read this (except for one or two people who will be actively monitoring my posts). Now the natural question to ask in that case is why I wouldn't just make a private document in Google Docs or Word. The reasons are twofold: this format makes it much easier to share with the few people who I do want to read it, and I do want to make what I write available to the general Internet in hopes that it might prove useful to somebody in the future.
With that said, let's talk about my day.
I woke up around 10:30AM cold and with a dry mouth. My room lights were still on from the night before (a bad habit I need to break). I skipped breakfast and lunch partly due to laziness and partly due to not having any food in the refrigerator, so in retrospect it was completely due to laziness on my part.
After brushing my teeth and taking care of my personal hygiene, I sat down at my computer (this was roughly 11:30AM). One of my friends immediately called me on Skype and invited me to play Left 4 Dead 2 with him and some people I didn't know. Unfortunately I didn't have this game installed so I started the download and listened to their conversation while I played XCOM: Enemy Unknown. This was a bad move.
Six hours later, I finally stopped playing XCOM. I hadn't counted on the game being so addictive. I made my way downstairs and cooked a meager dinner comprised of rice and scrambled eggs doused in hot sauce. Supplementing the main course were two clementines, a handful of cashews, and two multivitamins.
After dinner, at about 8:30PM, I began playing XCOM again, and this lasted until 10:00PM. I then played Borderlands 2 until 11:30PM with a friend. Tomorrow will be the first real day of work since the weekend before Christmas so I'm not terribly excited by that prospect. So it goes.
And during the course of writing this entry, I realized I spent most of my waking hours playing video games. I'm not sure how I feel about that. But we can talk about that another time.
